What We Believe

We accept the Scriptures as our authority in matters of faith and practice and adopt the following Confession of Faith as our interpretation of Bible Doctrine:

1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as being verbally inspired by God and inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority.

(Acts 1:16; Rom. 15:4; Heb 4:12; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21)

2. We believe in one God eternally existing in one essence, yet three coequal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(Gen. 1:1; Col. 1:16; Job 33:4; Heb. 9:14; Matt. 28:19)

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born to the Virgin Mary.

(Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Lk. 1:27-35)

4. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, Who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is the life of the believer, and He empowers the preaching of the gospel.

(Jn. 14:26, 15:26; Lk. 12:12; Jn 3:5; Titus 3:5)

5. We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and under God’s wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can man be rescued, reconciled, and renewed.

(Gen 1:27; Gen 1:31; Eccl 7:29; Acts 17:26-29; Gen 2:16-17; Gen 3:6-24; Rom 5:12; Rom 5:15-19; Ps 51:5; Rom 8:7; Isa 53:6; Gen 6:12; Rom 3:9-18; Eph 2:1-3; Rom 1:18, 32; Rom 2:1-16; Gal 3:10; Matt 20:15; Ezek 18:19-20; Rom 1:20; Rom 3:19; Gal 3:2)

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.

(Eph 2:3; Matt 18:11; 1 John 4:10; 1 Cor 3:5-7; Acts 15:11; John 3:16; John 1:1-14; Heb 4:14;Heb 12:24; Phil 2:9, 14; 2 Cor 5:21; Isa 42:21; Phil 2:8; Gal 4:4-5; Rom 3:21; Isa 53:4-5; Matt 20:28; Rom 4:25; Rom 3:21-26; 1 John 2:3; 1 Cor 15:1-3; Heb 9:13-15; Heb 1:8; Heb 1:3; Col 3:1-4; Heb 7:25; Col 2:18; Heb 7:26; Ps 89:19; Ps 34:1-22)

7. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us.

(Matt 28:1-15; Mk 16:1-9; Lk 24:1-40, Jn 20:1-29; Acts 2:24, 32; 3:15; 4;10-12; Heb 4:14-16; Rev 1:18)

8. We believe in the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

(1 Pet 4:7; 1 Cor 7:29-31; Heb 1:10-12; Matt 24:35; 1 John 2:17; Matt 28:20; Matt 13:39-40; 2 Pet 3:3-13; Acts 1:11; Rev 1:7; Heb 9:28; Acts 3:21; 1 Thess 4:13-18; 1 Thess 5:1-11; Acts 24:15; 1 Cor 15:12-58; Luke 14:14; Dan 12:2; John 5:28-29; John 6:40; John 11:25-26; 2 Tim 1:10; Acts 10:42; Matt 13:49; Matt 13:37-43; Matt 24:30-31; Matt 25:31-46; Rev 22:11; 1 Cor 6:9- 10; Mark 9:43-48; 2 Pet 2:9; Jude 7; Phil 3:19; Rom 6:23; 2 Cor 5:10-11; John 4:36; 2 Cor 4:18; Rom 3:5-6; 2 Thess 1:6-12; Heb 6:1-2; 1 Cor 4:5; Acts 17:31; Rom 2:2-16; Rev 20:11-12; 1 John 2:28; 1 John 4:17; 2 Pet 3:11-12)

9. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ and repent and forsake sin are born again by the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

(Mark 1:15; Acts 11:18; Eph 2:8; 1 John 5:1; John 16:8; Acts 2:37-38; Acts 16:30-31; Luke 18:13; Luke 15:18-21; Jas 4:7-10; 2 Cor 7:11; 1 Cor 10:12-13; Ps 51:1-19; Rom 10:9-11; Acts 3:22-23; Heb 4:14; Ps 2:6; Heb 1:8; Heb 7:25; 2 Tim 1:12)

10. We believe salvation is wholly by God’s free and special grace and not on account of anything at all foreseen in man.

(John 6:44; Rom 9:16; Eph 1:5-7, 2:8-9; Titus 2:4-5)

11. We believe in God’s electing grace and effectual call. Those whom God has elected He is pleased to call out of a state of sin and death, which they are in by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ.

(2 Tim 1:8-9; Eph 1:3-14; 1 Pet 1:1-2; Rom 11:5-6; John 15;16; 1 John 4:19; 2 Thess 2:13-14; Acts 13:48; John 10:16; Matt 20:16; Acts 15:14; Ex 33:18-19; Matt 20:15; Eph 1:11; Rom 9:23-24; Jer 31:3; Rom 11:28-29; Jas 1:17-18; 2 Tim 1:9; Rom 11:32-36; 1 Cor 1:26-31; Rom 3:27; Rom 4:16; Col 3:12; 1 Cor 3:5-7; 1 Cor 15:10; 1 Pet 5:10; Acts 1:24; 1 Thess 2:13; 1 Pet 2:9; Luke 18:7; John 15:16; 1 Thess 2:12; 2 Tim 2:10; 1 Cor 9:22; Rom 8:28-30; John 6:37- 40; 1 Thess 1:4-10; Isa 42:16; Rom 11:29; 2 Pet 1:10-11; Phil 3:12; Heb 6:11)

12. We believe that those who are effectually called and sanctified by His Spirit, and given the precious faith of His elect, can neither totally nor finally fall from a state of grace. They are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption.

(John  3:15-16, 10:28-29; Rom 8:38-39; Eph. 1:13-14;  4:30; Phil. 1:6; Heb. 7:25; Jude 24)

13. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell, and the fellowship of the saved in heaven.

(I Cor 15:22; Galatians 3:10; John 3:36; Isaiah 57:21; Luke 16:25; John; 12:25-26; Luke 12:4-5; Matthew 7:13-14; 25:34; Rev 20:11-15)

14. We believe in the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men, and that he and all his angels and all who do not receive Christ as their Savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire.

(Gen. 3:1-5; Isa. 14:12-17; Ezek. 28:11-19; Job 1-2; 1 John 5:19; 2 Cor. 11:14; 1 Tim. 3:6; 1 Pet. 5:8-9; James 4:7; Rev. 12:9, Rev. 20:1-3, Rev. 7-10).

15. We believe in the Church, whose mission it is to preach the Scriptures to all the world, all of its endeavors being guided by multiple leadership and supported by the wise stewardship of God’s people.

(1 Cor 1:1-3; Matt 18:17; Acts 5:11; Acts 8:1; Acts 11:21-23; 1 Cor 4:17; 1 Cor 14:23; 1 Tim 3:5; Acts 2:41-42; 2 Cor 8:5; Acts 2:47; 1 Cor 5:12-13; 1 Cor 11:2; 2 Thess 3:6; Rom 16:17-20; 1 Cor 11:23-24; Matt 18:15-20; 1 Cor 5:6; 2 Cor 2:17; 1 Cor 4:17; Matt 28:20; John 14:15; John 15:12; 1 John 4:21; John 14:21; 1 Thess 4:2; 2 John 6; Gal 6:2; Eph 4:7; 1 Cor 14:12; Phil 1:1; Acts 14:23; Acts 15:22; 1 Tim 3; Titus 1)

16. We believe that the ordinances of the Church, given by our Lord, are Baptism and the Lord’s Table (Communion) being observed and administered until the return of Christ.

(Acts 8:36-39; Matt 3:5-6; John 3:22-23; John 4:12; Matt 28:19-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:12; Acts 16:32-34; Acts 18:8; Acts 10:47-48; Gal 3:26-28; Rom 6:4; Col 2:12; 1 Pet 3:20-21; Acts 22:16; Acts 2:41-42; 1 Cor 11:26; Matt 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:14- 20; 1 Cor 11:28; 1 Cor 5:1-8; 1 Cor 11:17-32; John 6:26)

17. We believe that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, bi-sexual, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, pornography or otherwise, is immoral and sinful and is a perversion of God’s gift of sex.

(Gen. 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14, 17, 22:19; Lev. 18:22-23, 20:13, 15-16; Matt. 19:4-9; Rom. 1:18-31; 1 Cor. 6:9-20; 1 Tim. 1:8-11; Jude 7).

18. We believe that God created the human race male and female and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one’s birth gender is immoral, sinful and in direct opposition to God’s desire for mankind.

(Gen. 1:27; 5:2; Deut. 22:5; Matt 19:4).

19. We believe that since human life begins at the moment of conception, the unborn child is a living human being made in the image of God. Aborting an unborn child is therefore considered immoral, sinful and in direct opposition to God’s desire for mankind.

(Job 3:16; Ps 51:5, 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24, 49:1; Jer. 1:5, 20:15-18; Lk. 1:44).

We believe that the foregoing are Biblical doctrines, therefore, we stand firm upon this Confession of Faith.
